Maxis Employees Create Positive Impact on Communities with Simple Ideas
The Maxis new way of working is one that is cultivated from its values of being Positive, Passionate and Collaborative, not just at the workplace but also as socially responsible citizens. Maxis employees recently came together to show how simple ideas could have an impact on the community. Recently, two campaigns in line with its new work culture and values benefitted a total of 11 charity homes.
Coffee For Charity
When Maxis began its transformation journey, one of its focus areas was to create a great workplace. As part of its office renovation, a section was transformed into a mini café, where employees could relax and have a cup of coffee. To do this, the Charity Coffee Card was introduced, where in order for employees to consume their beverage, they can purchase this card, and proceeds will go to selected charities. In the first five months since its introduction, more than RM30,000 was collected and given to three charity homes. Residents from the homes were invited to Maxis’ office to receive their cheques as well as to enjoy a fun morning of activities and brunch.
Laptop Donation
Identifying those in need of PCs for their daily administrative work and learning purposes, Maxis recently donated a total 110 used laptops that were identified to be in good condition, to 8 homes around the Klang Valley and Selangor. Maxis volunteers made a trip to these homes to hand over the laptops and also assisted the residents in setting up and configuring them so that they could be immediately utilised. The smiles on their faces made it extremely worthwhile!
Residents from Beautiful Gate Foundation, Trinity Community Children Home Society and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ibu Tunggal An-Nur Kuala Lumpur & Selangor enjoy a fun day out at Maxis’ office with games and activities.
Maxis volunteers handed over laptops to Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kanak2 Selangor Klang Utama Caring Home, Good Samaritan Home, Pusat Kebajikan Good Shepherd (Teenage Centre), Beautiful Gate Foundation for the Disabled, Persatuan Pemulihan Orang-orang Cacat Selangor & Wilayah Persekutuan, Independent Living & Training Centre, Persatuan Anak-anak Yatim dan Ibu Tunggal Kampung Medan, and Pertubuhan Perkhidmatan Sosial dan Pembangunan Komuniti Daerah Gombak (PSPK).
