We refer to the issuance of notices of additional assessment with penalties for the years of assessment 2016 and 2017 totaling RM140 million (“2020 Notices”), notice of additional assessment with penalty for the year of assessment 2021 totaling RM71.7 million (“2023 Notice”) (collectively referred to as the “2020 and 2023 Notices”) and our announcements dated 20 November 2020 and 20 April 2023 respectively.
On 27 November 2023, the High Court dismissed MBSB’s application to commence judicial review in respect of the 2020 and 2023 Notices. Based on the advice of MBSB’s legal counsel, an appeal against the decision of the High Court will be filed at the Court of Appeal along with an application for a stay of enforcement of the 2020 and 2023 Notices pending MBSB’s appeal to the Court of Appeal. The Company will provide updates from time to time of any material development to this matter. This announcement is dated 27 November 2023.
